DaPopPop is born from the artistic journey of Rebekah Potter, a lifelong painter, textile artist, and passionate creator, whose work seeks to be a "bright light" in the lives of those who encounter it. In 2023, Potter embraced the term "lightworker" in the truest sense—transforming it into a pursuit of luminous, sculptural objects that carry both light and story.

Each of her lights begins with the time-honored craft of paper mâché—a slow, meditative process in which layers of recycled paper and glue are built up over forms. This method takes months, not days, and imbues each piece with a sense of history and purpose. The lights are then hand-painted, coated in fabrics, or adorned with cords, trims, and sometimes patinas or glazes.

These lights are not merely functional. They are one-of-a-kind works of art, inspired by quests—both personal and historical—that Potter chooses to explore. From the ancient paper mâché mask-making traditions of the East, to the bold patterns of the Dogon people, to the dramatic fashion sensibilities of Vivienne Westwood, every light carries its own narrative.
