DaPopPop was born from artist, Rebekah Potter’s, quest to create works of Art that function as “bright lights” in people’s lives. Lifelong painter, textile artist, and wallpaper fanatic, Potter decided to take the term “light worker” literally in 2023 and began experimenting with the creation of pendant lights.

The foundation of each light begins with the traditional craft of paper machè. Layer upon layer of recycled paper and glue are assembled over forms in a time consuming process that takes months. The lights are then hand painted or coated in fabrics, cords and trims, sometimes finished with patinas, glazes and pigment. These lights are inspired by various quests Potter chooses to take. Whether it be the paper machè mask making of China, the patterns of the Dogone people or the epic fashion portfolio of Vivienne Westwood. Potter aims to educate, explore and express her quest discoveries in each of these pieces. Every light is its own “work of art” numbered and signed. No two are ever alike. So mix and match, pick a conversation piece, or simply select a light that makes you beam.

DaPopPop’s creations are colorful, playful, and we think, imperfectly delightful!
